BBC Proms, and Picnics

On Sunday 24th July, DH and I were both up before 9am on a Sunday. Our mission...to get to the Human Planet BBC Prom at the Royal Albert hall. I was exhausted, after a major stint at the Salon, and really just wanted to stay in bed, but I had had a dream that the concert was going to amaze me, so I pushed my bulk to get dressed and get out of the house, and golly gosh I am so glad I did.

It was our first ever visit, and it was just beautiful. Musically we visited Mongolian warriors, folksingers from Greenland, and Zambia, and three beautifully dressed ladies from Siberia. The costumes were stunning, and some of the musicians had never left their own countries. I realized that they found our part of the world as wondrous, as we found theirs. Stunning images were beamed onto the screens, to the music of Nitin Sawhney, from the series,The Human Planet. What a beautiful planet we live on. It was just magical. I felt a bit teary, because I wanted to just get on a plane, and see these natural God Given wonders for myself. DH and I enjoyed it so much. For me it was truly life changing, and I know that sounds strong, but it really was. I seem to have much more awareness of our Planet, and the gracious (sometimes)beings that chose this as their home, all different, but all with this one pulsating heart beat, yet all with one unique voice.

As we left the Royal albert Hall, the sun was gracing us with its warmth, and beauty, so DH and I decided to have a picnic in Hyde Park. We walked down to Harrods, where I had to visit the Lola cake counter...blissfully bliss-ably bliss.......yummio central station. I don't need to say anymore, just look at the pictures!!!

all of these please!!

So with picnic of Olive bread, Vine Tomatoes, Chilli Olives (so hot!) and Mild Cheddar Cheese, and of course Lolas for our tea later, we trekked back to Hyde Park, and enjoyed a well deserved feast on the lush green grass.
